Is Teen Expedition LLC a nonprofit?

No. Teen Expedition LLC is a for-profit outdoor leadership company.
Scholarship funds are managed internally and used exclusively to support student participation.

 

Are donations tax-deductible? no...but maybe

Not at this time. Because we are not a 501(c)(3) organization, donations cannot be claimed as charitable contributions. However, it might be possible via one of the schools foundations. Stay tuned...

How are scholarship funds used?

100% of donations go toward supporting student participation through:

• Tuition reductions

• Gear assistance

• Travel support (when needed)

No funds are used for administrative overhead.

How are students selected?

Students apply through a formal process including:

• Financial need

• Personal motivation essay

• Recommendation from a teacher/coach/mentor

Awards prioritize students who show potential, curiosity, maturity, and need.

Do donors learn about the students they support?

Only with the family’s permission.
We value privacy and student dignity.

Donors may receive:

• Anonymized student stories

• A post-trip update

• Optional thank-you notes

 

Can donors sponsor a specific student?

Yes, in certain cases. We can match donors with students based on need and family preference.
